Call for Papers: March 31st

Conference Theme

Dealing with diverse identities

http://www.edi-conference.org
The EDI Conference welcomes a wide range of interventions about the complex relationship between equality, diversity and inclusion from different theoretical, empirical and methodological angles as well as across various trans/inter/national and disciplinary contexts. In 2015, we wish to draw particular attention to the problem of identity, to the various conceptions and misconceptions, to the enactment of identity by individuals, groups and out-groups; to the modes of construction, the borders, the stability as well as the evolutions, the homogeneity as well as the heterogeneities which are thus attributed to them. Those underlie the relations they maintain: power/privilege/hierarchy/equality; inclusion/ exclusion; solidarity/individualism; competition /cooperation…. And also the way in which the humans: workers, consumers, citizens, migrants… are treated, looked after, managed, controlled, trained. On which conceptions are institutions, laws, norms, standards, methods built? With which effects?  What transformations are possible?
12 streams (plus a general conference stream) and 3 workshops invite your presentations: classical academic papers as well as reflexive reports focused on your experience as policy maker or practitioner...
Parallel to the conference a doctoral colloquium.
